Here you'll find answers to some of the most common questions about my photography services. Whether you're considering booking a session or you've already scheduled one, this page is designed to provide you with the information you need to feel confident and prepared. From details about the booking process to questions about what to expect during a session, I've got you covered. Read on to learn more about my approach to photography and how I can help you capture beautiful, timeless images.

Q: WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?

We are located in Shawnee, Oklahoma (40 min in any directions)

Corpus Christi Gulf which includes North Padre, Port Aransas, Portland, Aransas Pass & Rockport

Aurora, Colorado which includes 40 min in any direction.  (.59 per additional mile)


Q: HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE?

Our style is in house editing and 20+ years together in photography classes and study.  Our style is mixed with rich, warm color tones,  and an aggressive approach to bold richness.  I want to see the colors in the environment and backgrounds of your portraits.  I also integrate timeless black and whites when I know you value them and the picture screams the intention.

We pose only if we are desiring an aesthetic or composition, it's the genuine and authentic emotions and expressions that we ultimately want the  image to resonate with our viewers. We like to guide you into a natural state and capture you as you would normally engage with each other or the camera.


Q: HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD WE BOOK YOU?

Our clients usually tend to book me 3-10 months prior to their wedding, family, boudoir sessions,  but that doesn't mean you can't contact us anyway. We can usually fit you in on short notice too.

Q:  What should I be prepared for an Underwater Photo Session?

We may need an underwater location.  This can be a community pool or your own pool.  If you would like us to arrange this, please allow 1-2 months to book your session.  Please be comfortable with holding your breath underwater with your eyes open.  As long as you are comfortable with this, then the rest of the session you will be coached for posing, swimming, wardrobe ideas, theme ideas and more.

Q: WILL OUR PHOTOS BE EDITED?

Absolutely! Our editing and retouching is always done in-house.  We feel this is part of our branding and our service to our client!   Our retouching is always forgiving but not without keeping with the true expressions, or flaws but rather playing them down to each client's discretion. It is very important to us to strike a balance between enhancing the photo and maintaining its natural look.

Q: HOW MANY IMAGES WILL I BE GETTING?

Each package gives you an amount you can rely on that is included, however your session will likely have more than the desired amount.  All of you images will be culled through and carefully selected for editing. All of your images are then displayed in an online gallery for additional purchasing power by the client.  These purchases include but are not limited to digital images, canvases, prints, acrylics, metals, albums keychains, magnets and more.

Q: WHAT IS THE TURNAROUND TIME FOR MY IMAGES?

Each package gives you an amount you can rely on that is included, however your session will likely have more than the desired amount.  All of you images will be culled through and carefully selected for editing. All of your images are then displayed in an online gallery for additional purchasing power by the client.  These purchases include but are not limited to digital images, canvases, prints, acrylics, metals, albums keychains, magnets and more.

Q: HOW WILL MY IMAGES BE DELIVERED?

Your purchases are always delivered from California Printing Labs.  Your purchases are protected and come with a satisfaction promise.  

*Digital Images are downloaded at your own risk.  We encourage you to always save your digital images to the Cloud, Drive or External Drive ONLY.

Q:  What if I can't make it to my session?

Please take care in cancellations and try to make your canceled session within a reasonable time. ( min. 24 hours) We understand sometimes things happen.  Your amount paid turns over to a new same session, date and time within 30 days of the canceled session.  *Under some conditions your paid fee may turn into another type of session but it MUST be discussed with your photographer and agreed upon.  *If your cancellation is because of travel, it may be agreed to be rescheduled for more than 30 days past but MUST not exceed 6 months.

Q: DO YOU OFFER PAYMENT PLANS?

Yes! Your first payment is a deposit (retainer fee). Please see our Terms & Conditions

You will pay your retainer fee toward your session and then you may pay weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly without interest until you either pay off before or on the date BEFORE your session,  

*WEDDINGS MUST BE PAID IN FULL BEFORE YOUR DATE WITHIN TWO WEEKS PRIOR

Q:  DO YOU OFFER PACKAGES FOR PRINTS?

ABSOLUTELY!  Inside your gallery there are single items, package items and more to choose from.  IF you can not afford everything you want at once and wish to make a payment plan, Shutterpix will write up an invoice to write down everything you desire.  With each Payment made,  your orders will be sent out for processing so you can get your products over the course of a few months.  It is a great incentive to see your payments aren't just paying but you are getting your products 1 by 1 too!

Q: Do you have Late Charges?

YES! A retainer fee is a contracted day for you and your photographer with a monetary amount set aside for our services. It shows you have commitment and responsibility to show up at your said time and day. If you are late for your appointment, Shutterpix retains the right to add charges per 20 minute increments to your original agreed rate. (Each 20 minutes late from the said start time is $25.00) (40 minutes = $50.00; 60 minutes = $75.00 ) After 60 minutes, the Photographer can decide to reschedule your date and time.

A photography session must not be rescheduled more than 3xs or a $75.00 fee will incur to reset your session date.

Q: SHOULD I GIVE YOU A SHOT LIST?

I have been photographing weddings for years now and have developed a very thorough system for it.

I will however, send you a form to add your details of your event with the important captures you want to make time for!  Plus details like family members to wedding party members.

Q: HAVE YOU SHOT AT MY VENUE BEFORE?

Chances are if you having a local wedding then I more than likely have shot at your venue, however, if I have not.. no need to worry.

Whether I have or haven't shot at your venue before or you are having a destination wedding, I like to prepare myself way ahead of time, scout the location and do my research.

For Destination Weddings, I require to arrive at least two days prior to your wedding date so I can familiarize myself with the area and scout the location.

Q: DO YOU OFFER VIDEOGRAPHY TOO?

Unfortunately, we do not offer videography but we are happy to direct you to other vendors in that category to help with your decisions

Q:  DO YOU SHOOT WITH A SECOND PHOTOGRAPHER?

I Do have a second photographer for assisting me on weddings over 6 hours packages that the cost is factored in.  But otherwise all other sessions and packages under 6 hours are only me.

Q: DO YOU CHARGE EXTRA FOR TRAVEL?

Yes, I do charge extra for destination weddings/events/sessions. Destinations are considered anywhere besides the GULF of Texas, Denver Metro and Shawnee, OK (+40 miles). *Travel fees are added to the cost of your package or session fee and also discussed.

For Weddings/Events:

-Anywhere in Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado - $500

-Anywhere in the USA - $1000

-International - $1500

For Sessions:

-Anywhere in Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado - $250

-Anywhere in the USA - $600

-International - $1400

Q: WILL YOU BE THE ONLY ONE TRAVELING?

When traveling, I usually have an assistant with me if available. There is no extra cost for my assistant. If my assistant is unavailable, I will be traveling on my own.

Q: WHO HANDLES THE LODGING, AIR FARE, TRANSPORTATION FOR YOU?

I will be responsible for booking lodging, air fare, & transportation for myself and/or anyone traveling with me.
