Where are you located?

Shutterpix Photography serves three primary areas:

Shawnee, Oklahoma and surrounding communities within approximately 40 minutes of Shawnee.

Corpus Christi and the Coastal Bend, including North Padre Island, Port Aransas, Portland, Aransas Pass and Rockport.

Aurora, Colorado and surrounding areas within approximately 40 minutes, including the greater Denver area.

Have somewhere else in mind? Just ask! We love a good location and are happy to travel.

How would you describe your style?

Our photography style has developed through more than 20 years of photographing, studying and continually refining our craft, with all of our editing done in-house.

Our style blends rich, enhanced color with the personality and surroundings of each session. We love bringing out the colors that were present on the day without making them overly bold or artificial. However, your style matters too. If you prefer a softer, more casual or slightly unsaturated look, we can incorporate that into the vision we create together. Your session is a collaboration between your style and ours.

Beach photography has its own color story. Along the coast, we often enhance the blues and aquas of the ocean, the colors of the sky, the warmth of the sand and dunes, and the changing hues of sunrise and sunset. But we also consider what you're wearing, the mood you want and how you envision your finished photographs.

We pose when it helps create a beautiful composition or aesthetic, but genuine emotion and expression are ultimately what we want your images to hold. We'll guide you into natural interactions and then capture the moments that happen between them, so your photographs still feel like you.

How far in advance should we book you?

Our clients usually tend to book me 3-10 months prior to their wedding, family, boudoir sessions, but that doesn't mean you can't contact us anyway. We can usually fit you in on short notice too.

How Should We Prepare For Our Photography Session?

We’ll collaborate before your session to create a look and location that fits your family. I love hearing your vision, including where you may want to display your photographs in your home. I can recommend locations based on where you’re staying, convenience, the ages of your family members, and the overall look you love. Together, we’ll choose a setting that brings your ideas to life.

Will our photos be edited?

Absolutely! Our editing and retouching is always done in-house. We feel this is part of our branding and our service to our client! Our retouching is always forgiving but not without keeping with the true expressions, or flaws but rather playing them down to each client's discretion. It is very important to us to strike a balance between enhancing the photo and maintaining its natural look.

How many images will i be getting?

Each package gives you an amount you can rely on that is included, however your session will likely have more than the desired amount. All of you images will be culled through and carefully selected for editing. All of your images are then displayed in an online gallery for additional purchasing power by the client. These purchases include but are not limited to digital images, canvases, prints, acrylics, metals, albums keychains, magnets and more.

What is the turnaround time for my images?

Your turn around time has a base safe phrase of 1-3 weeks. However, as part of our responsibility to you is open communication. We will tell you where you are in line, if we are currently experiencing any level of wait time, and if we can speculate a time frame accurately, we will. We will also, text you as courtesy when your gallery link has been sent to you.

How will my gallery or prints be delivered?

Your purchases are always delivered from California Printing Labs. Your purchases are protected and come with a satisfaction promise. Your gallery will be soft edited. Your digital proofs will be soft edited only. If you purchase prints - they will have a detailed edit. If you want your downloads specifically edited, they have additional costs. *Please ask for details.
*Digital Images are downloaded at your own risk. We encourage you to always save your digital images to the Cloud, Drive or External Drive ONLY.

What if I can't make it to my session?

Please take care in cancellations and try to make your canceled session within a reasonable time. ( min. 24 hours) We understand sometimes things happen. Your amount paid turns over to a new same session, date and time within 30 days of the canceled session. *Under some conditions your paid fee may turn into another type of session but it MUST be discussed with your photographer and agreed upon. *If your cancellation is because of travel, it may be agreed to be rescheduled for more than 30 days past but MUST not exceed 6 months.

Do you charge extra for travel?

Yes, travel fees may apply for destination weddings, events and sessions.

Our regular service areas include the Texas Gulf Coast, Denver Metro area, and Shawnee, Oklahoma and surrounding areas within approximately 40 miles.

Weddings & Events:
Travel throughout Texas, Oklahoma and Colorado is available. Destination travel is quoted individually based on location and current travel costs. As a general guideline, destination travel begins around $500, but we’re always happy to discuss the details and work out the best option for your event.

Portrait Sessions:
Corpus Christi, North Padre Island and Port Aransas are included in our normal service area. Locations farther out, including Rockport, Aransas Pass, Alice and Kingsville, may have an additional travel fee starting around $25, depending on distance.

Any applicable travel costs will always be discussed with you and added to your package or session fee before booking.

Is the beach windy?

The beach is almost always windy. There are very few days of the year without at least some breeze. As photographers, we’re used to working with all kinds of weather and know how to adjust our posing and positioning to work with the wind.

For longer hair, I recommend bringing a ponytail holder or another option you’re comfortable with, and a sunhat or cap can be great too. We’ll also finesse our posing and direction to capture your natural hairstyle whenever possible.

If windblown hair is something you know will bother you or you prefer a more polished, picture-perfect look, please let us know ahead of time. We can talk through the conditions and other options so you feel comfortable with the plan.

Do you photograph in Port Aransas and North Padre Island?

Yes, we travel between both places to accommodate our clients for their convenience or environment that you and I plan for the pictures.

What time of the day works for the Beach Sessions?

We recommend choosing the time of day that works best for your family. If you have early risers, mornings are wonderful. The beaches are less crowded, the sun rises over the ocean, and the early light is soft and beautiful.

If you love sunsets, evenings are gorgeous too. The light softens, the colors explode over the dunes, and it’s generally cooler. The changing hues reflect beautifully across the ocean water, and sometimes a little drama in the waves is exactly what the session needs.

What beach locations do you photograph?

I have a favorite beach location that works beautifully for larger families. It offers rocks for comfortable seated groupings, and the dunes are easy to walk through. I especially love this location because it gives us so much variety in one place, with different textures, scenery and natural environments all coming together for a more diverse gallery.

I also photograph throughout Corpus Christi, North Padre Island and Port Aransas, and I’m happy to recommend the best beach based on your family, where you’re staying and the look you want.

What if it rains?

Rain doesn’t have to ruin your session! My scheduling is intentionally flexible, so if rain rolls in, we have options. We can move to another nearby location where it isn’t raining, adjust to a better time later that same day, or reschedule for the very next day when possible.

And sometimes, we can simply embrace it and turn your session into a fun, spontaneous adventure in the rain! We’ll watch the weather and work together to choose the best solution for your family.

Should I gave you a shot list?

I have been photographing for years now and have developed a very thorough system for it plus, it's fun to be carefree and spontaneous for the best results.

I will however, love to see your vision. We can always add your "must haves".

Do you Offer Packages for prints?

ABSOLUTELY! Inside your gallery there are single items, package items and more to choose from. IF you can not afford everything you want at once and wish to make a payment plan, Shutterpix will write up an invoice to write down everything you desire. With each Payment made, your orders will be sent out for processing so you can get your products over the course of a few months. It is a great incentive to see your payments aren't just paying but you are getting your products 1 by 1 too!

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes! We offer flexible payment plans.

Your first payment is your retainer fee, which reserves your date and is applied toward your total session or package balance. Please see our Terms & Conditions for complete booking details.

After your retainer is paid, you may make payments weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly with no interest, as long as your balance is paid in full before your scheduled session.

Weddings must be paid in full no later than two weeks before the wedding date.

*Interested in prints or wall art? Payment arrangements may be available for those as well. Just ask and we’ll work with you on the options.

Do you have Late Charges?

Yes. We understand that things happen, but arriving on time is important so you receive the full photography experience you reserved.

If you arrive late, Shutterpix Photography reserves the right to charge $25 for each 20-minute increment past your scheduled start time:

20 minutes late: $25
40 minutes late: $50
60 minutes late: $75

After 60 minutes, the photographer may choose to reschedule the session depending on availability and the circumstances.

We understand that occasionally a session needs to be moved. However, after three reschedules, a $75 rescheduling fee may be required to reserve another date.

Do you Offer Boudoir?

Yes! Shutterpix Photography offers private boudoir photography for individuals and couples. Sessions are designed around your comfort level and the style you want, whether that’s soft and romantic, confident and glamorous, playful, or a little more daring.

We’ll collaborate with you on wardrobe, location and the overall look of your session, and guide you throughout the experience so you never have to wonder what to do in front of the camera.

Privacy is always respected, and your boudoir images do not have to be shared publicly. Contact us for current boudoir collections and options.
